The Canary Islands Health Service (Servicio Canario de la Salud – Gobierno de Canarias) is an autonomous administrative body attached to the Ministry responsible for Health of the Canary Islands. The service is responsible for the offer of comprehensive health care – including preventive, curative and rehabilitative care – in the whole region serving two million inhabitants and 11 millions of tourists every year.

UCL – Université catholique de Louvain

The Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL) is the largest French-speaking university in Belgium and one of the largest French-speaking comprehensive universities internationally. It has a staff of more than 5000, offering courses in a wide range of disciplines to 29000 students of 127 different nationalities, and more than 2000 researchers and 1500 PhD students. Università degli Studi di Udine

The University of Udine is a public university with national and international outstanding reputation for academic excellence in both teaching and research. The University of Udine has already participated in EC-funded projects successfully (e.g. FIDES, QuiDPROQUO) as a lead partner thanks to administrative support and skills. IC-Health will involve the public health team of the Department of Medical and Biological Sciences, which works in collaboration with the University Hospital of Udine.

Leader Work Package 4: Sustainability Strategy

The University of Ulster has experience with co-creation with the elderly. The team is comprised of researchers from the Faculty of Computing and Engineering. The Faculty has a long track record in both teaching and research activities relating to healthcare technology. This has ranged from the delivery of health informatics and biomedical engineering programs through to advanced medical device research.

Tallinn University is the third largest university in Estonia consisting of 6 institutes and 4 colleges. It has more than 8500 students as well as almost 500 faculty members and research fellows, and is the fastest growing university in Estonia. Its main strengths lie in the fields of humanities and social sciences, but it also has a strong and constantly growing component of natural and exact sciences, as well as a notable tradition of teacher training and educational research.

The University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), established in the 1989-1990 academic year, has 161 research groups covering all fields of knowledge, made up of nearly 1000 researchers and around 1000 PhD students.

Its role in spreading new knowledge and resources in the field of health can be pivotal for the engagement of the population cohorts and for a sound and effective dissemination of the project’s outcomes as well as for a wider uptake and use of the designed MOOCs.

The Meyer Children’s Hospital is a highly specialised paediatric hospital. In particular, the Diabetology Department acts as the Tuscany Regional Centre for Paediatric Diabetology coordinating the paediatric diabetologic activities in Tuscany.
